Your Services by LiveWell Psychology

We offer an initial assessment appointment during which we will undertake a full psychological assessment and may ask you to complete a psychological questionnaire. By the end of the assessment, we will have jointly agreed whether psychological support is right for you and, if so, what it could help you achieve. If you decide you do not wish to attend another appointment, that will not be a problem. The full assessment process is not limited to one appointment and may take longer.

Appointments last 1 hour.

We offer appointments to individuals or couples.

Therapeutic Approaches

We are trained in a range of therapeutic approaches which we use according to your needs and preferences. We work with you towards helping you understand how you are feeling, supporting you and helping you to develop psychological, emotional, behavioural and lifestyle changes enabling you to achieve your goals. We prioritise your hopes and wishes and adapt our style of working to maximise the possibilities of improving your psychological health and wellbeing.

The models of therapy available are as follows. You may have heard of some of these models but do not worry if not. The choice will depend on a number of factors which will be discussed with you. We will work with you to make sure you are comfortable with the therapeutic style.

  • Cognitive-behavioural therapy
  • Mindfulness based cognitive therapy
  • Acceptance and commitment therapy
  • Solution-focused therapy

Therapeutic models help to guide the way we work with you and often a combined approach is used, drawing on elements of different models. Helping you to develop new coping strategies will be most beneficial if you are able to consider alternatives to the way you think and do things. We realise this may not be easy and we will support you in achieving this.

Ensuring your privacy and confidentiality is of the utmost importance to us. Your details and any information about you will not be shared with anyone unless explicitly agreed with you; this will be discussed with you at the initial appointment.

How do you get in touch?

For an initial appointment or to discuss if psychological therapy would be of help to you, please contact us on either of the mobile numbers or email us directly via the website. Please provide your name and contact number and we will answer your query as soon as possible. We welcome informal enquiries and would be happy to have a chat with you about the service and whether you feel we could help and support you.

Number of consultations

Following an initial appointment, a joint decision between you and the clinical psychologist will be made regarding follow up appointments. There is no standard number of appointments that suits everyone so we will jointly agree a number of appointments that can be changed if necessary to suit your needs.

Appointments: £90 per hour

Corporate rate: £120 per hour

Cancellation Policy

The therapeutic contract and cancellation policy will be discussed at our initial appointment together.

Record Keeping

We will make written notes during your consultations. Any records or reports are stored securely and will be kept for an agreed period of time following which they will be destroyed.

Clinical and Professional Standards

To ensure that we maintain a high standard of professional and clinical practice, we receive regular supervision from experienced clinical psychologists, engage in peer supervision with clinical psychology colleagues in the North West and adhere to the policies and guidelines published by the Health Care Professions Council and British Psychological Society. For specialist areas of clinical psychology, guidelines published by the Department of Health and the National Institute of Clinical Excellence are adhered to and awareness of published literature maintained.
