Experience

I have worked in NHS clinical psychology services since 2001 during which time I have gained experience of working with people across the lifespan. My Doctoral training incorporated a wide range of clinical services including adult mental health, child, older adult, learning disability and physical health.

During the past 12 years, therefore, my therapeutic skills and experience have benefitted from working with people daily to help them find ways of improving many aspects of their psychological and emotional health and wellbeing such as increasing their confidence, self-esteem, assertiveness; reducing anxiety; improving mood and quality of life; enhancing the way people relate to themselves and to others to name just a few of the positive outcomes that have been achieved. I feel privileged to hear people’s stories and to be a part of their personal growth and am continually inspired by how resourceful people can learn to be when faced with difficulty and when offered the appropriate support.

Professional Interest

I maintain close links with the Clinical Psychology Doctoral training programme at the University of Lancaster offering clinical and research supervision to 2nd and 3rd year trainees and teaching and marking on the Doctoral programme.
